FD discovered critical installation issues while performing prefunctional inspections for the HVAC systems for this 70-bed, 190,750 SF new facility. The rooftop units were installed without adequate controls to provide minimum outside air. FD also noted the potential for re-entrainment of contaminants to be pulled through the HVAC ventilation system. Both issues were corrected during construction and potential indoor environment and pressure relationship problems in the hospital were avoided.
