Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital
Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital - Siloam Springs, Arkansas
Prior to commissioning, the hospital HVAC system was operating in a manner to create a negative pressure within the building. Building negative pressure leads to outdoor air infiltration through exterior openings which can create cold drafts in the winter, condensation in the summer, water infiltration, and particulate and dust infiltration. Through functional testing of the HVAC equipment, FD discovered that the return fan operations were not tracking the supply fan speed to maintain neutral building pressure. The building pressure, temperatures, and humidity stabilized at design levels once the sequence of controls was corrected and verified.
